NFL Draft 2015: San Francisco 49ers Select T Ian Silberman In 6th Round

The first Eagle drafted is a bit of a surprise.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

After waiting two and a half long days, Boston College finally had a player drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft. Ian Silberman, a tackle was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round, 190th overall.

SIlberman, a transfer from Florida, came to the Eagles in 2014. He started all 13 games for the Eagles this season, and was an integral part of Ryan Day and Steve Addazio's running scheme. At draft time he measured in at 6'5 295 lbs, and was projected to be an undrafted free agent. His NFL.com profile said that Silberman's positives is that he is strong and plays bigger than he actually is. His weaknesses being that he struggled to maintain blocks for long periods of time, plays slow, and spent most of his time in run heavy offenses.

Interesting that Silberman was the first player picked, as most thought center Andy Gallik would have been drafted. Congratulations to Ian. Good luck int he NFL!
