2013 Frozen Four: NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket Projection

Decisions, decisions ...

Justin K. Aller

Notre Dame held on to beat Michigan 3-1 to take the CCHA title, ending the Wolverine's run of 22 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. With the win, the Irish will likely claim the final #1 seed and will play in the Midwest Regional in Toledo next weekend.

Here's what the bracket currently looks like:

East Regional (Providence, Rhode Island)
1 Quinnipiac vs. 16 Canisius
8 North Dakota vs. 10 Niagara

Midwest Regional (Toledo, Ohio)
4 Notre Dame vs. 13 St. Cloud State
5 Miami vs. 12 Union

Northeast Regional (Manchester, New Hampshire)
3 UMass-Lowell vs. 14 Wisconsin
7 New Hampshire vs. 9 Denver

West Regional (Grand Rapids, Michigan)
2 Minnesota vs. 15 Yale
6 Boston College vs. 11 Minnesota State

The selection committee has a decision to make. Do they try to boost East Regional attendance by swapping out North Dakota-Niagara with Boston College-Minnesota State, or do they try to preserve bracket integrity and ship BC west and North Dakota east? Maybe something cool I don't even know about?
