Hockey East Preseason: Top 5 Hobey Baker Award Candidates (Western College Hockey Blog)
Gaudreau leads in this list of five preseason Hobey contenders in Hockey East - the first in what should be a long line of Hobey hype articles during the preseason media blitz. Jon Gillies and Conor Hellebucyk are #2 and #3 on the list. If any goaltender has the talent to break the mold and manage to win this thing as a goalie, it might be Gillies... but I still think that's unlikely.
In return home, Chase Rettig aims to surprise (Boston Herald)
"It's going to be fun to go back home and see some family and let them see me play live. It will be fun to be back, but the most important thing is to sing our fight song at the end of the game," Rettig said yesterday, alluding to the new tradition that calls for the players to sing "For Boston" in the locker room after each win.
Did you know Chase Rettig is from California? I'm thinking that you may finally be provided with that information if you watch the broadcast on Saturday.
BC's Bryce Jones just rolls with it (ESPN Boston)
"We've got some things we want to tighten up on defense," Eagles coach Steve Addazio said after the 24-10 win over Wake Forest on Friday night. "So every once in awhile, because we're so multiple, we have some blown assignments and some guys all of a sudden get behind us deep. So we're a work in progress with that too, now. "I told you that from day one: When you do what we do, you're gonna have some guys that are gonna hit you deep sometimes. We've had that happen. And we just roll. Just roll with it."
Boston College promotes Clark, adds Majewski to athletics communications staff (USCHO.com)
Tim Clark has been promoted to associate director of athletics communications and Mark Majewski has been named assistant director of athletics communications at Boston College. In addition, the office has changed its name from Media Relations to Athletics Communications. Najewski, who will be the primary men's hockey contact at BC, spent the past four years in a similar role at Northeastern.
Congratulations to Tim Clark, one of the best people you'll ever meet in the business of athletic communications... or any other business for that matter. And congratulations to Mark Majewski as well, who I'm sure will continue the tremendous and highly professional work done by BC's athletic communications team.
