The Eagles are now the only undefeated team in the ACC after a 2-1 win over the Seminioles. Full recap to follow.
This game was already pushed up from its original scheduled start on Saturday night to 12:30 today. No word yet on when this game will be rescheduled.
Uh oh. BC's got a football team...
The Boston College offense, led by QB Anthony Brown, exploded against Wake Forest in its first real test of the season, leading the Eagles to a big, beautiful road ACC win against the Demon Deacons.
Brown hurled five (!) touchdown passes, and AJ Dillon supported the effort with a mere 175 yards and a score of his own.
The BC defense didn't have its best night against the quick-moving Wake Forest offense, but when the offense puts over 40 on the board, they didn't have to be. Special teams remain a major concern, but for now, we've got a nice BC win to enjoy for the long week.
Full coverage to come!
Lots of highs and lows in this one... Wake Forest had a chance to take the lead, or at least get within 1, with a 4th and 2 inside the BC 10 at the end of the quarter, but BC forced the huge turnover on downs.
The Eagles find themselves ahead with one quarter left to play, but it's still anyone's game. BC needs its best quarter of the season to finish this one out!
This game has been as up and down as it gets -- the Eagles started out hot, Wake responded, BC took over again, and then made plenty of special teams mistakes. The Deacs actually took the lead in the 2nd quarter, but a big play action pass from Anthony Brown to Kobay White tied the game up for BC.
Needless to say... it looks like it's gonna be a blink-and-you'll-miss-a-bunch second half.
It was an almost perfect start for BC, with a big Michael Walker opening kickoff return, a long AJ Dillon touchdown, and then a BC interception all in quick succession, but a Walker muffed punt recovery led to a Wake Forest touchdown to tie it toward the end of the quarter.
But the Eagles are driving, and look to take the lead at the start of the 2nd quarter!
2-0 is nice and all, but the season starts on Thursday, and for that I am grateful. Full recap of another Eagles blowout coming soon.
