It appears that a familiar face is returning to the United States after a stint overseas.

After playing for the Elite Ice Hockey League’s Coventry Blaze and the Alps Hockey League’s HC Gardena, BC alumnus Barry Almeida will be heading back to the United States and the ECHL. Almeida will play for Worcester Railers Hockey Club in the club’s first season in Worcester, Mass.

Almeida previously played in the ECHL for four years after some time in the AHL. Almeida played for the 2013 Reading Royals in the Royals’ run to the Kelly Cup championship.

Almeida played in 186 games in the ECHL prior to the begin of the 2017-18 season. He notched 138 points during his first stint in the ECHL.

Almeida was a four year player on the Eagles, winning two national championships during his time at the Heights.
