October 27

NHL

Jimmy Hayes is continuing to improve his offensive presence for the Bruins. He picked up a goal and two assists in their win over Arizona. Here's the goal, which was Boston's second of the night:

Cam Atkinson scored the game winning goal in Columbus's second win under their new coach. Atkinson set himself in front of the goal and sent a good pass past Cory Schneider. Schneider made 11 saves on 14 shots as the losing goalie.

Brian Gionta notched a secondary assist on a regulation goal in Buffalo's OT win over the Flyers.

Hanifin was a healthy scratch for the Hurricanes on Tuesday.

AHL

John Muse made 43 saves to keep his team in the game, but Texas ultimately lost to Milwaukee in OT.

ECHL

Parker Milner made 25 saves in Missouri's 5-2 win over Quad City.

October 28

NHL

Johnny Gaudreau assisted on the game tying goal for Calgary against Ottawa (Calgary went on to lose in the shootout.) Gaudreau's shot set the stage for the puck to get into the net - it wasn't the prettiest goal, but a goal is a goal.

Brian Dumoulin has consistently been getting a lot of breakaways, including 3 against Washington on Wednesday, but he didn't pick up any points in Pittsburgh's win over Washington. Brooks Orpik recorded 7 hits in the game for Washington, as usual.

Ben Smith returned to the lineup for the Sharks and saw just under 8 minutes of ice time in their loss to Nashville.

October 29

NHL

Noah Hanifin returned to the lineup and Nathan Gerbe picked up a secondary assist as the Hurricanes defeated the Islanders on Thursday.

Cory Schneider made 27 saves as the Devils defeated the Flyers 4-1.

Brian Dumoulin recorded 5 hits in the Penguins win over Buffalo. Brian Gionta recorded 5 shots for Buffalo, but was unable to score a goal.

Brian Boyle returned to Tampa's lineup following an undisclosed injury. He recorded 3 hits but struggled a bit on face offs.

AHL

Patrick Brown assisted on Charlotte's first goal in their loss to Lake Erie.

October 30

NHL

Brian Gionta assisted on Buffalo's game winning goal vs. Philly with a crisp pass to Ryan O'Reilly.

Johnny Gaudreau assisted on Calgary's second goal in their loss to Montreal. Gaudreau has scored only one goal this year, but leads the Flames (and is tied for the NHL lead) with 11 assists. On Friday, Gaudreau's shot allowed the Flames to get a rebound goal.

Nathan Gerbe recorded 3 hits in Carolina's win over Colorado.

Jimmy Hayes registered six shots AND six hits in Boston's victory over Florida.

AHL

Bill Arnold scored the game tying goal in Stockton's shootout loss to San Diego. (With Calgary struggling, I'd love to see Calgary give a solid two way player like Arnold a shot at the NHL...)

Joe Whitney picked up a secondary assist on Bridgeport's game winning goal against Albany.

Philip Samuelsson picked up an assist in Springfield's 6-1 victory over Rochester.

Tommy Cross continues to impress, as he picked up two assists to help Providence defeat Portland. (His defensive skills didn't hurt either.)

Peter Harrold, another solid AHL defender, picked up an assist in Chicago's victory over Manitoba.

October 31

NHL

Stephen Gionta assisted on New Jersey's second goal in their SO win over the Islanders. Cory Schneider made 24 saves in regulation for the Devils.

Brian Dumoulin and Rob Scuderi both picked up assists in Pittsburgh's 4-0 win over Toronto.

Jimmy Hayes got the secondary assist on Boston's first goal in their victory over Tampa Bay, helping Boston to continue their dominance on the road.

Cam Atkinson picked up an assist as Columbus lost to Winnipeg. He used some tricky stick handling to keep the puck away from defenders so he could pass it off to a teammate. Atkinson has been struggling to get on the board this season, so it's good to see him contributing offensively this week.

AHL

Paul Carey scored the game winning goal in Hershey's win over St. John's.

Tommy Cross recorded an assist in Providence's loss to Hartford, while Brian Gibbons scored the game winning goal for the Wolf Pack.

ECHL

Parker Milner made 26 saves in Missouri's 2-1 loss to Allen.

Destry Straight registered 5 shots for Rapid City, but was unable to score.

November 1

NHL

Brian Gionta picked up a secondary assist on the tying goal in Buffalo's win over the Islanders. Gionta has been registering a lot of shots on net lately, so hopefully we'll see him scoring some more goals as the season moves forward.

Ben Smith was a scratch for San Jose after playing in two games this week.

Brian Boyle has struggled a bit on face offs since returning from his injury, and this continued in Tampa's defeat of Carolina.

AHL

Joe Whitney added the lone assist to Bridgeport's first goal in their victory over Utica.

Paul Carey picked up an assist in Hershey's 5-4 loss to Lehigh Valley.
