Boston College Football Depth Chart For Florida State Game

No major changes, but Nick Clancy is missing, and Colin Larmond Jr. and Deuce Finch are still no where to be found.

US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Boston College Eagles are on the road, headed to Tallahassee to face the heavily favorited Florida State Seminoles. The depth chart was released today and here is the two deep for this week

Quarterback:

  1. Chase Rettig - JR
  2. Josh Bordner - SO

As I have mentioned over and over again, offensive line please do not let Rettig get hurt this week. Please.

Halfback:

  1. Andre Williams - JR
  2. David Dudeck - FR

Tahj Kimble is still hurt, and Rolandan Finch is still firmly planted in the Frank Spaziani doghouse. Williams shows an explosive potential but if this offensive line gets shredded, he doesn't stand a chance. Dudeck had a nice quarter for the Eagles catching two swing passes last week, but disappeared in the second half.

Wide Receivers:

  1. Alex Amidon - JR
  2. Donte Elliott - SR
  1. Johnathan Coleman - JR
  2. Dan Crimmins - FR
  1. Bobby Swigert - JR
  2. Spiffy Evans - So

Everything is the same, but one question. What did Colin Larmond Jr. do to go from Chase Rettig's number one target in 2010 & 2011, to completely left off the two deep week after week in 2012. Don't give me injuries because he isn't hurt, he has been in plays, albeit it limited the past three weeks. If Spaz was serious about winning, he would get Larmond out there more often.

Tight End:

  1. C.J. Parsons - SO OR Brian Miller - FR

Both of these tight ends have been forced to "stay home" and bail out a flailing offensive line, and I expect Saturday will be no different. The tight ends will never be weapons for Rettig unless the line figures itself out.

Offensive Line

Left Tackle:

  1. Emmett Cleary - SR
  2. Dan Lembke - R-FR

Left Guard:

  1. Bobby Vardaro - SO
  2. Victor Nelson - R-FR
Center:
  1. Andy Gallik - SO
  2. Paul Gaughan - R-FR

Right Guard:

  1. Ian White - JR
  2. Seth Betancourt - SO

Right Tackle:

  1. John Wetzel - SR
  2. Aaron Kramer - SO

Glad to see Spaz and Jim Bollman are going with the same unit as they did last week. That ended well.

Fullback

  1. Jake Sinkovec - JR
  2. Jarrett Darmstatter - SO

Sinkovec is probably the best run blocker on the team next to Ian White, and that isn't saying too much. He is going to be needed this weekend, some of BC's best rushes come with a Sinko lead block. The down side of his game is that he gets banged up quickly.

Defensive Ends:

  1. Mehdi Abdesmad - SO
  2. Kieran Borcich - FR
  1. Kasim Edebali - SO
  2. Connor Wujciak - R-FR

Edebali is back out there. No earth shattering changes this week, which isn't a surprise. Spaz seems to like to go with the same unit over and over again, no matter the results.

Left Tackle

  1. Dominic Appiah - SO
  2. Max Ricci - JR

Right Tackle

  1. Jaryd Rudolph - JR
  2. Bryan Murray - SR

Murray gets on the 2 deep this week as Dillon Quinn is left off.

SLB:

  1. Steele Divitto - JR
  2. Tim Joy - FR

MLB:

  1. Sean Duggan- SO
  2. Nick Lifka - FR

WLB:

  1. Kevin Pierre-Louis- JR
  2. Steven Daniels - FR

Did I miss something with Nick Clancy last week? The nation's leading tackler is absent this week from the chart, replaced by Sean Duggan.

Field Corner:

  1. Manuel Asprilla - SO
  2. Bryce Jones - FR

Back Corner:

  1. Ameer Richardson - FR
  2. C.J. Jones - SO

Sean Sylvia started at Back Corner last week, and struggled at times shedding blocks on the option. Ameer Richardson who has been the starter before will get the nod this week against FSU.

Strong Safety:

  1. Jim Noel - SR
  2. Dominique Williams- SO

Free Safety:

  1. Sean Sylvia - SO
  2. Justin Simmons - FR

Spencer Rositano is out this week, after leaving the Army game with an injury. Sylvia slots back to Free Safety. No other changes.

Punt Returner:

  1. Spiffy Evans - FR
  2. Bobby Swigert - JR

Please don't get Swigert reinjured on special teams. Please.

Kick Returner:

  1. Spiffy Evans - SO
  2. Donte Elliott - SR

Nothing new here.

Kicker:

  1. Nate Freese - JR
  2. Alex Howell - R-FR

Punter:

  1. Gerald Levano - SR
  2. Alex Howell - R-FR

Snapper

  1. Sean Flaherty - SR
  2. Dave Shinskie - SR

Holder

  1. Gerald Levano - SR
  2. Josh Bordner - SO
