Boston College GIF of the Year: Octofinals, Matchup #3

Two votes down, many more to go! Our second octofinals matchup is in the books, and neither have been close. Smith’s Trickery To White easily handled Tic Tac Slowe 78-22 to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Duke Dagger

The Duke win was an emotional roller coaster... the Eagles held the lead for long stretches of the game, but Duke started to take over as the minutes wound down. But Jerome Robinson’s dagger of a 3 put the Eagles up by two with just 80 seconds left to play. BC took care of business from there, and the party was on.

Breaking Ankles

Sam Apuzzo scored her share of quality goals in this year’s incredible women’s lacrosse season, but none that quite got you out of your seat like this one against #1 seeded Maryland in the NCAA semifinals. Apuzzo embarrassed that poor Terrapin’s and left her and her dignity laying on the back of the net before scoring what would stand up as the game-winning goal for the Eagles, sending them to their second consecutive NCAA championship game.
