That’s it, our first vote is in! Hey We Beat Duke took down Miano’s Beanpot Winner by a 80-20 tally in our first Octofinals matchup to punch its ticket to the GIF quarterfinals.
Let’s keep things moving with our second matchup of the week.
BC Women’s Hockey’s Molly Slowe found great chemistry on one of BC’s top lines late in the season, and you won’t find a better showcase of that than this goal against Boston University in the Beanpot championship game. Just a beauty of a tic-tac-toe goal started by a behind the back pass from Lonergan before Watts dishes over the picture-perfect feed to Slow on the back door. The Eagles would go on to retain the Beanpot title in overtime.
The BC coaching staff went deep into their bag of tricks for a play we hoped we would see at some point in 2017. We knew we’d see the reverse to former quarterback Jeff Smith at some point, and it turned into one of the most sensational plays of the entire season. Smith aired out a rainbow to Kobay White in the back of the endzone, and the freshman wide receiver laid out and got a foot down for the score. BC went on to smoke the Seminoles for their first win over Florida State in years.
Let’s do our first check-in on this year’s bracket:
We’ll continue to update the bracket after each vote takes place.
