Boston College GIF of the Year: BEST OF THE BEST

That’s it, ring the bell, it’s all over! A heartfelt congratulations to the 2017 Boston College GIF of the Year Champion, Caitrin Orr!

Caitrin Lonergan’s Wonder Woman goal against UConn was unquestionably the BC hockey goal of the year, and today it has earned the prestigious title of GREATEST BOSTON COLLEGE GIF OF 2017 OF ALL TIME thanks to you, the Boston College fans.

But that’s not quite the end of the road for the masterpiece of a GIF that is “Caitrin Orr.” While she’s been immortalized in the Boston College GIF Hall of Fame for all eternity, there’s still the final matter of our annual vote for BEST OF THE BEST.

Last year’s Best Of The Best vote saw Johnny Gaudreau’s “The Goal” retain its title as GREATEST BOSTON COLLEGE GIF EVER OF ALL TIME in a surprisingly close vote against BC football’s “No Option.”

Will it retain its spot atop the GIF world? Only you can decide!

We’re not so different, you and I. Gaudreau and Lonergan had remarkably similar goals to earn themselves their respective titles. But only one can be the best — can Johnny Gaudreau’s GIF from the 2012 NCAA championship game keep its spot atop the GIF universe?

Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual BC GIF of the Year tournament! We really enjoy putting it together, and hope you enjoyed it as well. It’s a great way to look back on the best moments of the past Boston College season as we work our way through the summer doldrums.

The 2017-2018 academic year is almost upon us, so here’s hoping we get a great year of Boston College moments for next year’s tournament!
