We’ve made it to the second round of the 2017 Boston College GIF of the Year tournament! Sixteen GIFs entered the GIF Stadium, but only eight survived the first round of cuts.
In our final vote of the first round, Kenzie Kent’s 5 goals in the NCAA championship game defeated Barry Almeida’s highlight-reel professional goal by a score of 75-25. That gave us our 8th quarterfinal competitor.
To check in on all of the first round matchups, you can check out the tournament hub right here.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at our first matchup of the Elite 8.
Patrick Towles’ QB TD reception was the very first winner of the Octofinals, eliminating Joe Woll’s great face was of a Vermont Catamount by a score of 70-30. Will the bowl game trick play be enough to advance to the semifinals?
Kaileen Hart’s ludicrous behind-the-back score against Yale had one of the biggest blowout wins of the first round, taking out Katie Burt’s breakaway save in the Hockey East Championship Game by a 88-12 tally. The matchups get tougher as we get deeper into the tournament... can Hart keep advancing?
Let’s check in out the updated bracket as we kick off round 2:
You have 24 hours to vote, ending at 9am EDT on Tuesday!
