Boston College GIF of the Year: Octofinals, Matchup #6

It has been pretty surprising to all of us here at BCI HQ that we have yet to see a close vote in the 2017 GIF of the Year tournament. That trend continued with yesterday’s matchup, where Tatiana Cortez’s walkoff home run smoked Andie Anostos’ skate-off winner in double overtime by a 76-24 tally.

This just means that with so many strong GIFs advancing, the quarterfinals are going to be “lit” or “hype” or “off the chain” or whatever the kids are saying these days.

But we’re not done yet with round one! Let’s keep this party train rolling with our next octofinals matchup.

RB Pass For The Win

We’ve already got one BC football trick play in the quarterfinals. Can Davon Jones and Tommy Sweeney make it two?

Jones’ RB pass off the option to beat NC State and give BC its first ACC win in nearly two years was a thrilling moment in the 2016-2017 BC Athletics season. It was good enough to beat NC State — is it good enough to beat its first GIF opponent?

Championship Celly

BC’s double-overtime win in the Hockey East Championship had to wait for a lengthy official review as Northeastern felt that the Eagles were offside on the play. But after the referees pointed to center ice signalling an Eagle victory and league championship, someone caught the BC coaching staff in a pretty cool moment of celebration.
