After a nailbiter against Virginia Tech Wednesday afternoon, the Boston College Eagles left nothing to chance Thursday afternoon.
The No. 12 seeded Eagles trounced No. 5 NC State 4-1, winning all but two completed games in the match.
After the Wolfpack won the first doubles match, the Eagles took the second and third doubles matches, winning the doubles point.
The Eagles then won 3-out-of-4 singles matches, including Lexi Borr’s match clinching defeat of Anna Rodgers, coming back 1-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Asiya Dair won the first singles match 6-3, 6-2, defeating the No. 75 player in the nation Martina Frantova.
The Eagles advance to play the No. 4 seeded Miami Hurricanes, who was given a bye into the quarterfinal round. The winner of that match will play the winner of No. 1 North Carolina and No. 9 Florida State in the semifinal round Saturday afternoon. The semifinal matches will be shown on ACC Network Extra.
