The Eagles’ offense came up strong this afternoon as they put up 13 shots on goal to overpower the Hurricanes 3-1 in their second road game this week. After an early score by Miami’s Kristina Fisher on a penalty kick at the 7-minute mark, BC was able to take control of the game. Freshman Sam Coffey answered with a goal off a corner kick 9 minutes later. The Eagles took a 2-1 lead into halftime after a 15’ goal from junior forward Carly Leipzig. Goalkeeper Alexis Bryant notched two strong saves at the start of the second half to keep the Eagles up a goal. Midfielder Lauren Berman put the Eagles up 3-1 with a score off a Leipzig pass. Berman leads the team with 6 goals on the season.
The win puts the Eagles at 9-5-1 on the season with a record of 3-2-1 in the ACC. They now head back to The Heights, where they will host the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday at the Newton Campus.
