The Boston College Eagles’ struggles did not get any respite Thursday afternoon in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles fell to No. 5 Duke 1-0 in the Eagles’ home opener off a goal scored in extra time.
Allie Augur was a major player in the Eagles effort, facing a 17-4 shot disparity in the game, Augur made seven saves on eight shots on frame.
Thanks to Augur’s efforts, the Eagles were able to weather the storm in regulation and forced Duke into its fourth overtime game of the year.
From there, five minutes into the overtime period, Marykate McGuire fielded a cross from Karlie Paschall, who then fed it to Delaney Graham six yards out who put sent the ball home.
The Eagles take on No. 1 North Carolina Sunday in Chestnut Hill.
