The Boston College Eagles added another chapter in what is shaping up to be a season to remember Saturday afternoon in Newton by defeating the No. 13 Virginia Tech Hokies in a close 9-7 decision.
The win clinches a share of the 2018 ACC regular season title for the Eagles.
The Eagles opened up with a 5-2 lead going into halftime. However, the Hokies scored three of the first four goals of the second half, which cut the Eagles lead to 6-5, and eventually tied the score at seven. Sam Apuzzo scored the eventual game winning goal with 12:26 left in the half, and Emma Schurr scored an insurance goal to give the Eagles their sixteenth win of the season.
The Eagles conclude the season against No. 15 Syracuse on April 19 in Newton. The Eagles will have the opportunity to win the ACC title outright with a win. The Eagles could also finish the regular season undefeated.
