Team USA has announced its roster for the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship, and there are Eagles all over the place.
Current and former Eagles make up a whopping six of the twenty skaters, good for 30% of the roster.
Player | Position | Class Year |
Alex Carpenter | F | 2016 |
Megan Keller | D | 2018 |
Emily Pfalzer | D | 2015 |
Haley Skarupa | F | 2016 |
Kelli Stack | F | 2011 |
Dana Trivigno | F | 2016 |
The IIHF Women's Worlds are the second biggest tournament in women's hockey, after only the Olympics, and the roster will often be pretty close to what you would expect to see in an Olympic year.
To see so many Eagles make the final roster for the biggest tournament in the world not only speaks to how good Boston College's team is this season, but it's also a big recruiting tool for the program: Come play for the Eagles; our players reach the pinnacle of the sport.
The 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship takes place from March 28th through April 4th in Kamloops, BC. With so many Eagles making the trip, we have yet to confirm whether that "BC" stands for "British Columbia" or "Boston College."
