After facing some early bumps in the road, #1 ranked Boston College put Maine away on Friday afternoon to pick up a 5-2 win in game 1 of their best-of-3 Hockey East quarterfinal series. BC returns to the ice tonight in game 2, hoping to sweep the Black Bears, while Maine will be playing to keep their season alive.
The Eagles will mathematically lock up the #1 seed in the national tournament with a win tonight, regardless of what happens in next week's WHEA semifinals or finals. If BC advances, they'll play the lowest remaining seed next Saturday at 1:30 PM.
