The Women's Hockey East tournament begins today, as the 34-0-0 Boston College Eagles embark upon a journey that they hope culminates in 7 more wins and 2 big trophies. BC will be expected to make easy work of the Maine Black Bears, who finished 8th place in Hockey East.
In their three matchups against Maine this regular season, BC went 3-0-0, outscoring the Black Bears 16-2. Beyond picking up two victories, Alex Carpenter will be hoping to rack up the points this weekend as she's locked in a tooth and nail fight with NU's Kendall Coyne for the national scoring lead, and for the Patty Kazmaier award.
If BC sweeps this weekend, they'll lock up the #1 national seed in the NCAA tournament.
