It's been quite a run for the Boston College women's hockey team, who have not lost a game since October 25, a 3-2 loss to Minnesota-Duluth. The next day, they reversed that score and beat Duluth 3-2. Since then, they've been outstanding, picking up big wins and racking up huge scoring totals.
Another sign of the program's progress showed itself today, as the Eagles were ranked #3 in this week's USCHO women's Division 1 hockey poll. This is the highest ranking in program history, and matches BC's current #3 ranking in the PairWise.
In each of the past two seasons, BC finished the year #4 and won their NCAA quarterfinal game to advance to the Frozen Four, only to be beaten by Wisconsin both years. The Eagles are looking increasingly likely to be a program capable of taking that next step toward competing for a national championship.
The road to Minneapolis resumes on Wednesday night for BC as they face #9 Northeastern at Matthews Arena.
