Boston College Vs. Louisville: Cardinals Open Week As Nine-Point Favorites

Vegas seems to think BC is going to have trouble with the Cardinals down in Kentucky this week.

The schedule doesn't get any easier for Boston College this week, when the now 3-4 Eagles head to Kentucky for another Atlantic Division matchup with the Louisville Cardinals. Vegas installed Louisville as a nine-point favorite to start the week.

Like the Eagles, the Cardinals are struggling to fight uphill against bowl eligibility. Following their 41-21 loss to Florida State last week, the Cards are now 2-4 on the season, far from their competitive prediction that they would take on both the Seminoles and Clemson for Atlantic Division superiority. But they're 4-2 this season against the spread, illustrating that they're one of the tougher outs in college football.

BC, meanwhile, remains 3-4 against the spread with a 3-4 overall record. The Eagles are additionally 2-2 on the road when taking the point spread.

Both teams are in a dogfight to find bowl eligibility, which makes this a huge game for each program. Louisville has a slightly easier road with games remaining against Wake Forest, Syracuse, and Virginia, while Boston College has games remaining with NC State and Virginia Tech. The entire ACC is logjammed against bowl eligibility with four teams at or within one game of a .500 record.

Over half of the ACC (eight teams) are within two games of a .500 record entering this weekend.
