Much of the attention of this week's Boston College-Howard football matchup centers on the fact that the Bison are the second FCS opponent on the Eagles' calendar this season. When the schedule was released, it provided a controversial topic of discussion eliciting opinions from so many different people.
BCI Radio is live tonight at 8pm!
The Eagles are far from the only team facing this dilemma. The North Carolina Tar Heels have two non-conference games scheduled this season, one of which happens this Saturday when they take on North Carolina A&T. Sandwiched around a game against the Illinois Fighting Illini, UNC will play Delaware on September 26th in the second of their two FCS matchups.
To open the discussion lines for a constructive and productive talk about the dynamic, we'll use BCI Radio to break it down (in addition to the Eagles' X's and O's from the Maine game). Jeff Greenberg from Sports-Glutton.com joins us to discuss the impact of the schedule on the Tar Heels and to analyze the entire FBS-FCS dynamic facing college football.
Our second guest of the night will be Rich Thompson, reporter for the Boston Herald. He will join us to talk Boston College's opening win over Maine and talk about what he saw from the Eagles. This will be a great opportunity to hear from someone who spends a lot of time around the program.
In addition to that, be sure to call in at 646-200-0446 to weigh in with your opinions and some of the ways you'd like to see BC improve its schedule. At the same time, we'll also be talking about the Maine game and readying you for a discussion of the Boston College on-field performance for the remainder of the week.
Some other media highlights from the upcoming week:
-Be sure to tune into Jon Meterparel's radio show with Steve Addazio on WEEI 850 AM on Monday at 8 PM. It'll be very interesting to hear what the coach says after the team's performance. With a couple of days to put the performance in perspective, we'll see if his opinion's changed at all or if he's noticed anything different that he didn't see as the game gets further in the past.
-If you're in the area, you can check out the show at The Stockyard restaurant in Brighton. Like AJ and I were talking last week, it has a great steak selection and is worth the trip for beef, beer, and football. Here's a link to the menu because MEAT!
-Mark RogersTV will have its first returns on what happened this weekend on its episode of ACC Breakdown on Wednesday. After talking preseason, it'll be very interesting to see the different opinions with Week One in the books from around the ACC blogosphere and universe.
-ICYMI last week, there is a weekly segment, Inside BC Football, on Friday night during the 10 PM news on myTV38. The segment airs during the sports report around 10:40 PM or so. Be sure to check that out!
As always, we'll provide media alerts so you can continue to fill your BC football appetite throughout the season!
