McKenzie Meehan was drafted by Sky Blue FC with the 34th overall pick in today’s 2017 NWSL Draft.
Meehan has been the Eagles’ star player throughout her collegiate career. Meehan was third on the team in scoring as a freshman and was named to the All-ACC freshman team. Meehan led BC and the ACC in goals and game-winning goals as a sophomore, before missing her junior season with an Achilles injury.
Upon returning to the team as a red-shirt junior, Meehan again led BC and the ACC in goals. Meehan was named to the All-ACC first team this season after leading BC in goals (12), points (26), shots (88), and shots on goal (45).
Meehan will leave BC holding multiple program records. She leads the program in career goals (58) and points (124). She also holds the single-season program record for goals scored, having scored 20 goals as a sophomore.
Congrats to Meehan - we can’t wait to see her play in the pros!
