A soccer game of mild significance this afternoon as the United States takes on Germany in the final match of Group G play. A win or draw sends both the Americans and the Germans through to the round of 16. The United States can also get through with a loss should the Portugal-Ghana game break the right way.
Various Group G tiebreakers and permutations can be found here.
U.S. coach Jürgen Klinsmann has opted to start midfielder Brad Davis over Alejandro Bedoya, so the former Boston College star, who started the first two matches, will have to come off the bench in this one.
