After playing to a 1-1 draw against Iona, the Boston College men's soccer team has rattled off three straight victories to improve to 3-0-1 on the year. The most recent victories include a 2-0 win at Quinnipiac on Thursday and a 3-0 win vs. Rhode Island on Sunday.
Junior Derrick Boateng scored a goal and added an assist to help down QU, while sophomore Isaac Normesinu paced the Eagles with a goal and an assist in the win over URI. Boston College goalkeeper Alex Kapp recorded his third straight shutout on the season vs. URI. He's recorded six saves over those three matches.
Boston College (3-0-1) opens ACC play on Friday night when the Eagles host No. 24 Clemson (1-0-3) at 7 p.m. The Tigers started the season off with a 1-0 victory over Radnor, but have proceeded to lose three straight, dropping 2-1 decisions at South Carolina, and against San Diego State and UC-Irvine in the San Diego State Tournament.
On the women's side, the Eagles extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over Illinois State on Sunday. Senior Stephanie McCaffrey recorded two goals and an assist to pace the Eagles. Boston College improves to 6-1 on the year.
Following a successful six-game road trip that saw the Eagles go 5-1-0, BC returns home to host Harvard on Friday, September 12 at 4 p.m.
