What is shaping up to be the greatest story of the Boston College Athletics offseason is going to have another chapter.

Team Challenge ALS, playing in honor of BC alumnus Pete Frates in his fight against ALS, will play for a berth in The Basketball Tournament championship game. In the West regional championship Sunday afternoon, Team Challenge ALS stormed past Armored Athlete 75-63 to earn a berth in the semifinal.

Casper Ware, formerly of Long Beach State, led the way for Team Challenge ALS with 21 points. He also contributed three assists, tied for the most in the game for Team Challenge ALS.

Team Challenge ALS paved the way for the victory early on, outscoring Armored Athlete 36-28 in the first half. Team Challenge ALS’ bench, always a strong point, contributed 25 points in the effort.

Team Challenge ALS will play for a berth in the TBT championship game Aug. 1 at Coppin State University in Baltimore. The game is slated to be tipped off at 9:00 PM EDT, and will be televised on ESPN.
