Boston College fans were treated to a flashback of a better time in BC men’s basketball Friday night, when BC alumnus Sean Marshall powered No. 6 Team Challenge ALS past No. 11 Wasatch Front in a 97-81 rout in the first round of The Basketball Tournament.

Marshall, who is a player-GM of the team put in 28 points in the effort.

The bench of Team Challenge ALS also contributed in a meaningful way. Team Challenge ALS’ bench outscored its opponent 45-6 in the win.

Team Challenge ALS, which has three different BC connected members of the team including Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan as a booster, is competing in The Basketball Tournament to raise awareness and money to support the fight against ALS in support of another BC alumnus, Pete Frates.

Team Challenge ALS plays Saturday afternoon in the second round against No. 3 The Stickmen. The game tips off at 4:15 PDT, or 7:15 in Boston. The game can be seen on WatchESPN.
