A familiar recurring summer sporting event is approaching. Entering its fourth season, the basketball tournament known as… well… The Basketball Tournament kicks off on June 17 with the playing of the TBT Jamboree at Philadelphia University’s Gallagher Athletic Center.

There will, however, be an even more familiar entity in this tournament for BC fans. In the west region, Team Challenge ALS will compete for the tournament’s $2 million purse. Playing in support of Pete Frates and his fight against ALS, the team garnered 1,166 votes in order to make it into the tournament. In addition to Frates, considered a “booster” for the team, two other BC alumni will be involved with the team. Small forward Sean Marshall will compete in the tournament, and former BC quarterback Matt Ryan is a booster on the team.

Team Challenge ALS will be competing in the west region, and will begin play Sat., July 15 at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas. You can follow Team Challenge ALS at @tmchallengeals. You can donate to the ALS Association by clicking here.
