With the worry of looking past Friday night’s game against Connecticut to Monday’s Beanpot semifinal looming, the Boston College Eagles took care of business Friday night in Hartford, Conn., downing the Huskies 5-3. The Eagles were powered by a three goal second period.

The Eagles opened up the game with a snipe from Oliver Wahlstrom in the first period, and the Eagles went into the locker room up 1-0. The Eagles added another tally from Jack McBain to get a 2-0 lead before conceding a goal to UConn around the halfway point.

But that is when the Eagles took flight.

The Eagles took control of the second half of the second period, dominating the run of play, scoring two goals, including a tally from recent transfer Ben Finklestein on a 5-on-3.

The Huskies made the game interesting in the third period, powering back off a Ruslan Iskhakov’s second of the game, and Wyatt Newpower’s second of the season. But the Eagles were able to weather the storm and eventually get out of Hartford with the win.

The Eagles play the Harvard Crimson Monday at TD Garden in the Beanpot semifinal.
