If you thought this would finally be the year that BC hockey's game at UConn would also be an occasion to spend an entire weekend day enjoying the unparalleled sights of Downtown Hartford, such as the unfinished Yard Goats stadium and the place where the Patriots almost moved to, think again!
UConn released their 2016-17 schedule to season ticket holders, and BC's third trip to the XL Center will also come on a weeknight - Tuesday, November 22. This is pretty disappointing; Hartford's a tough trip from the Boston area on a weeknight, but in spite of this, a decent smattering of BC fans have made their way to the XL each of the past two years, and we'd surely see many more coming from both Boston and New York if the game were on a Saturday. Oh well, maybe next year.
On a side note, UConn's home schedule is pretty awful, and should cheer you up if you ever feel like BC hockey has a bad home schedule. Their nonconference games are Alabama Huntsville (Twice), AIC, Sacred Heart and Yale. They don't have home games with Notre Dame or Maine - it appears they're giving up their home game with Maine for Frozen Fenway. Woof.
