After suffering a heavy defeat against Canada on Friday, the youth-heavy US men's hockey team bounced back with a 6-3 win over Belarus on Saturday in game 2 of the IIHF World Championships in Russia. Four former Eagles - Thatcher Demko, Steve Santini, Miles Wood and Noah Hanifin - are part of the American team, with Wood and Hanifin scoring in today's victory. Wood's goal opened the scoring in the first period.
Auston Matthews, widely predicted to be the #1 overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft, led the way for the US with two goals.
