Boston College Men’s Hockey’s Colin White Named Alternate Captain of US Junior National Team

With the World Junior Championships coming up later this month, the US Junior Team is beginning to finalize its roster going into the tournament. With the finalization of the rosters, the team captains have been announced. Boston College sophomore Colin White was named an alternate captain by the National Team, the program announced Sunday.

White was a member of the US National Junior Team that won the bronze medal during the 2016 tournament. He also was a member of the US National U-18 team that won the gold medal at the IIHF Men’s Under-18 World Championship in 2015.

Luke Kunin, from the University of Wisconsin was named captain of the US Junior team, and Boston University’s Charlie McAvoy was also named an alternate captain of the team.

Team USA begins the tournament at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, playing in Group A with Canada, Latvia, Russia and Slovakia. The tournament begins Dec. 26, 2016.
