Boston College Hockey Recruiting: Christopher Grando Commits to BC

'98-born winger commits to the Eagles

Douglas Jones-USA TODAY Sports

'No rest for the weary. Just days after being eliminated in the 2015 NCAA hockey tournament, Boston College's coaching staff was on the trail nailing down a commitment from 1998-born forward Christopher Grando.

Grando is a 5'8'', left-handed winger from Islip, N.Y.,who spent this past season playing for the North Jersey Avalanche in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League. Per The Boston College Hockey Blog, Grando was impressive at the recent USA Hockey national tournament, scoring 8 points in 8 games for the Avalanche.

The earliest Grando would likely arrive is the fall of 2016 when he will be 18. In theory, he could hold off until 2017, too. BC already has 8 commitments lined up to enter in the fall of 2016 as of now, including 4 forwards, on the heels of a gigantic class entering this coming year as well.

Grando will ply his trade for the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League this season after the Gamblers selected him in the 4th round of the USHL Draft.

It's good to see more recruits being added to the pipeline down the road, with York & co. remaining active and building strong classes several years into the future.

Congratulations to Christopher and good luck in Green Bay this coming season.
