Boston College Hockey Recruiting: '98 Forward Zachary Walker Commits To The Eagles

The rich get richer as Jerry York lands another prized recruit.

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

Jerry York and the Eagles have landed their third '98 commitment in forward Zachary Walker.

The 6-foot-1 forward recorded a 30-42--72 scoring line in 69 games with the Midwest Elite Hockey League's Colorado Thunderbirds U16 team. Next season he's committed to play for the U.S. National Development Team Program in Ann Arbor, joining Sean Lorenz (Notre Dame), Nick Shore (Denver), Seth Jones (Nashville Predators), Quentin Shore (Denver) and Gavin Stoick (Cornell) as former Thunderbirds to go on to play for the US NDTP.

Overtheboards.net ranks Walker as the 7th best uncommitted prospect, describing his game thusly:

"Speed, speed, and more speed – draws explosive bursts from a powerful lower half, but just as impressive are some of the plays Walker can make at top speed. As he continues to come into his body and play to his gifted offensive traits, the Boise, Idaho native should emerge as a premier talent."

Walker, a Boise, Idaho native, would become the first Eagle from the Gem State. Jerry York's recruiting reach knows no bounds, the world is flat, and all that good stuff. Walker is Boston College's third verbal commitment from a '98-born skater, joining Shattuck St. Mary's U16's Graham McPhee and Hingham HS's Luke McInnis.

Welcome to the Heights, Zachary!
