As disappointing as it was that both the men's and women's hockey seasons ended without a national title, this was still a great year to be a BC hockey fan. The men's team racked up a pair of trophies and earned a trip to Tampa for the Frozen Four. The women's team won three trophies of their own, and also made it all the way to the final - smashing program and Hockey East records along the way.
But even more important than the trophies and the accomplishments are the moments - those fun games and memories that get us through the offseason and keep us looking forward to what's to come.
Here's a look back at some of our favorite games and memories from this past season.
#15 - January 29 - BC smokes Notre Dame in South Bend
The month of January was a phenomenal one for BC. After stumbling through the holidays, BC ripped off 6 out of 8 points against PC and BU, got through the JY1K milestone, then had a surprising tie at home against UConn. Their final game of the month and their last game before the Beanpot came in South Bend against Notre Dame - an Irish team that at the time was cruising and a strong contender to top the league. Both teams were in the top 10 and the winner would come out in first place in Hockey East.
BC picked ND apart, scoring two in the first and two in the second (including an 18-5 shot margin in the 2nd period) en route to a 4-0 win. It was one of BC's most complete performances of the season. We also got to hear ND's announcer call the puck "the ball" multiple times so that was fun.
#14 - November 10 - Alex Carpenter scores to beat BU in overtime
The BC women were rarely pushed over the course of the regular season in Hockey East play, but when they were, they responded. This game represented the only time prior to the Clarkson semifinal that anyone pushed BC to OT all season. BU, as they tend to do, just managed to find ways to score against a BC team that was dominating possession. But Haley Skarupa and Alex Carpenter combined to extinguish the threat.
Props to BC announcer Luis Sanchez for the super-energetic call here. WOO!
#13 - January 15 - Austin Cangelosi scores a fantastic penalty shot goal in home win over BU
It's always fun to beat BU. It's even more fun when we get the rare moment of a home penalty shot, and when Austin Cangelosi brings down the house with a fantastic goal.

#12 - December 6 - BC stages three-goal third period rally to beat Northeastern at Matthews Arena
OK, so at the time, we thought Northeastern was terrible (they had 3 wins to that point), so the excitement was more "yay, we avoided losing to this bad team." In retrospect NU was starting to heat up - they tied at Conte the night before and had just lost a heartbreaker in OT to UML the week before in Belfast. They would basically quit losing after this game.
BC was down 3-1 going in to the third period and looked pretty dead. Then the magic happened.
#11 - February 26 - BC clinches HEA regular season title with 3-1 win over Lowell
BC vs. Lowell games are pretty much always tight and tense. This was no exception. BC had to grind out this victory, but in doing so they clinched the Hockey East regular season title.
We start to count down the top 10 in our next installment. What games do you think made our list?
