NCAA Hockey Tournament - Northeast Regional

#2-seed Boston College Eagles (26-7-5, #5 in the Pairwise rankings) vs.
#3-seed Harvard Crimson (19-10-4, #11 in the Pairwise rankings)

Quick Preview

The 2016 NCAA Hockey Tournament begins tonight. A strong season for BC all comes down to single elimination, do-or-die games, with the Eagles needing two wins this weekend to make it to the 2016 Frozen Four in Tampa.

BC and Harvard last met in the 2016 Beanpot semifinal, where BC topped Harvard 3-2 on the strength of two power play goals and a strong defensive performance. Last week, BC lost in the Hockey East semifinals to Northeastern, while Harvard made the ECAC final before falling to Quinnipiac.

The Eagles are favored according to Vegas, at +160 odds to win the regional compared to +200 for Harvard.

Venue

BC and Harvard will take the short jaunt on the Mass Pike to Worcester's DCU Center, home of the Northeast Regional. BC has been very successful in Worcester, winning the regional in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014; they've posted a 12-1 record all time at the DCU Center. Can history repeat?

Game Time

The puck is scheduled to drop at 8 PM Eastern Time, assuming there are no major delays caused by the Providence vs. Minnesota-Duluth game which begins at 4:30.
