Providence will be #1 seed in Worcester, all but guaranteeing BC in Worcester

#1 seeds revealed

The NCAA men's hockey Twitter account teased the upcoming selection show by revealing the four #1 seeds and where they will be playing.

There was some drama about whether #1 overall Quinnipiac would be in Albany or Worcester, but the NCAA ended the mystery by confirming the Bobcats will be in Albany, almost certainly against RIT.

Providence, #4 overall, will be the top seed in Worcester, which all but guarantees that #5 Boston College will join them at the DCU Center.

The Northeast regional will be played this coming Friday and Saturday, welcome news for BC and PC fans hoping to avoid an overlap with Easter.

The full bracket will be revealed shortly, but there are only two possibilities for BC's first round opponent, either Harvard or Yale. Based on the rankings it will probably be Harvard.

The selection show starts at noon on ESPNU. We will post the full bracket here once it's out.
