4 days... Can you feel it?

#4 Teddy Doherty - Defenseman

Class Year: Senior
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 173
Hometown: Hopkinton, MA

Before BC:

Doherty played with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in '11-'12, going 2-14--16 in 57 games. Prior to that, he played with Shattuck St. Mary's.

Fun facts:

- Doherty is the nephew of former Eagle Marty Hughes '01.
- The last player to wear the #4 for the Eagles was Tommy Cross '12.

2014-2015 in review:

Doherty had a breakout year in 2014-2015. As a sophomore he didn't even play every game, much to the frustration of a lot of the fans. He seemed to be a talented player and no one could figure out why he was sitting in the stands. That changed in his junior year. Through the midway part of the season, Doherty was actually leading the team in scoring (as a defenseman!). Unfortunately, it was partially due to being forced into more of an offensive role due to lack of scoring from the forwards.

2015-2016 outlook:

Doherty is certainly a top four defenseman this year and with the offensive depth, BC shouldn't need to look to him to score. That should allow him to really shine as an experienced Hockey East defenseman. He makes very few mistakes. Depending on whether Jerry York wants to pair up his experience with the young Casey Fitzgerald, you'll see him either on the first or second defensive pairing.
