6 Days Til BC Hockey: Get To Know #6, Steve Santini

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

6 days!

#6 Steve Santini - Defenseman

Class Year: Junior
Height: 6'2'
Hometown: Mahopac, NY

Before BC:

Santini played for USA U18 team in '12-'13 and the USA U17 team in '11-'12.

Fun facts:

- Santini is a 2nd round NHL draft pick of the New Jersey Devils
- Santini took over jersey number 6 from former BC defenseman Patrick Wey

2014-2015 in review:

Santini missed a significant chunk of the first half schedule, missing 16 games and appearing to be less than 100% in the second half. He put together a 1-4--5 line in 22 games.

2015-2016 outlook:

Santini is an absolutely critical part of the BC blue line, and with the departures of Noah Hanifin and Mike Matheson, will likely anchor the top pairing. He is an enforcer type (see below) and hopefully will be back to full strength for a big rebound season.
