Boston College Hockey Schedule: Eagles To Host Holy Cross On November 29

The Crusaders (November 29) and RPI Engineers (October 13) added to the sched.

Quick hockey scheduling update: Holy Cross has published its 2013-14 men's hockey schedule, Atlantic Hockey's last season as a 12-member league before UCONN joins Hockey East. The Crusaders' 2013-14 sched includes a road trip to Conte Forum to take on Boston College on Black Friday, November 29.

The Eagles and Crusaders last met during the 2004-05 season with the Eagles earning a 5-0 victory. The Eagles have won 11 straight in the series and lead the all-time series 15-1 (Holy Cross's lone win came in 1945-46).

It will be interesting to see if this game is part of a weekend doubleheader with the Holy Cross men's basketball team. Unfortunately, basketball has had an annoying tendency recently of playing "rivalry" games against Holy Cross and Providence over break.

In the past, York has traditionally avoided scheduling AHA clubs during the regular season but with the added scheduling flexibility, it's nice to see BC give a stick tap to its Jesuit rivals down the Pike.

Other quick updates: The Rensselaer hockey website Without a Peer also reports that the Eagles will host on the Engineers on Sunday, October 13. The two former ECAC rivals last faced one another in 2007 with BC winning 4-1. The Eagles lead the all-time series 19-14-1.

The Kid also reports that BC has games next year against Army, Michigan, Minnesota and Harvard -- and I don't think The Kid is referring to next year's Beanpot Championship game. That puts the Eagles right at the 34-game limit, assuming that both the Michigan and Minnesota series will be a two-game set. With the RPI game on Sunday, October 13, that likely leaves the weekends of October 18-19 and 25-26 for BC vs. the Big Ten.

Here is the Eagles' tentative 2013-14 schedule below. Hockey East will likely shuffle things around to accommodate the scheduling of /dead horse Frozen Fenway, which for BC, appears to be set for Saturday, January 4 vs. Notre Dame.
