Jerry York night just isn't meant to be. Possibly because every night is Jerry York night.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass - The Boston College men's hockey game scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8 against UMass-Lowell at Kelley Rink has been postponed because of the impending snow storm. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at Kelley Rink.
Jerry York Night, consisting of events surrounding the Feb. 8 game to honor Boston College's head coach on his achievement of becoming college hockey's all-time wins leader, has been postponed until the start of the 2013-14 season. That date will be announced when next year's schedule is released.
Tickets for the game on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 will be honored for the rescheduled game on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Please contact the ticket office at 617-552-3000 or through email: athletic.tickets@bc.edu with questions or concerns.
Next, the Eagles are scheduled to face off against Northeastern in the 61st Beanpot championship game on Monday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at TD Garden. The game is televised by NESN.
The impending snow storm will postpone not only Friday's BC-Lowell game, but also:
-- New Hampshire at Providence - now Wednesday, 2/13 at 7 PM
-- Northeastern at UMass - Tuesday, 2/19 at 7 PM
-- Merrimack at Boston University - Tuesday, 2/26 at 7 PM
The resulting schedule gives the Eagles a pretty brutal two-week stretch of games following the Beanpot championship game. The Eagles go to surging Merrimack (2/15), host New Hampshire (2/17), head back to Merrimack (2/24) and finally host the River Hawks on Tuesday, February 26 in Friday's rescheduled game. The Hockey East regular season title could very well be determined by this stretch of four games.
