2012-2013 Boston College Hockey: Yale Game Thread (7:05 PM, 98.5 The Sports Hub)

The #2 Eagles return to Conte Forum tonight to face former ECAC rival #17 Yale.

Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

The #2 Boston College men's hockey team finally returns home tonight for the first time in over a month when they face the #17 Yale Bulldogs at Conte Forum. It's the first game for BC since Sunday night's disastrous 8-1 defeat at Minnesota, and will mark the return of defenseman Isaac MacLeod to the BC lineup.

Yale is 7-4-2 on the season, with a 3-2-0 record away from home. They had been on a nice run since November, with a 5-1-1 stretch that included wins over Denver, Colorado College, and UMass, but in their last game, they suffered a surprising 5-4 loss to Holy Cross.

The Bulldogs tend to play an up-and-down attacking game that suits the style of play BC enjoys and could provide a nice show for the home fans tonight. BC will likely face #1 goalie Jeff Malcolm, who has had a decent year, going 6-3-1 with a 2.66 GAA and a .915% save percentage, although I admit I mostly know him as one of the three goalies BC bowled through in the epic 9-7 NCAA Regional Final between BC and Yale in Manchester in 2010.

Team defense overall is not a strength for the Bulldogs, as their 3.00 team GAA is 45th overall in NCAA; it's their offense that has kept them in the top 20.

Game time is 7:05 PM; the game will air on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub and video will be streamed ($$$) at BCEagles.com.
