The Boston College Eagles’ football game against Louisville has been moved from Nov. 27 to Dec. 12, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday.
The move was made in response to an outbreak of COVID-19 within the Miami Hurricanes’ football program, resulting in a number of games being rescheduled.
Boston College has not been affected by any COVID-19 related scheduling changes other than the ones that preceded the season, and it is probably worth noting as well that the Eagles’ postponement was not due to any issues within the Eagles’ locker room or any teams the Eagles had faced.
However, the change is merely a reflection of the times. Cancellations have been abound this year in college football as teams have had to adjust to respond to key players being quarantined following a positive COVID-19 test. With the uptick in COVID-19 cases nationwide, college football has seen a number of game cancellations in response, leading to the Eagles’ rescheduled game.
The game, slated to be BC’s last home game of the year, will remain in Chestnut Hill.
