The verdict on Boston College Football’s bowl destination is in, and it’s pretty much what the prognosticators had been expecting over the past week. The Eagles will be headed to the Birmingham Bowl in Birmingham, AL on January 2nd at 3pm ET/2pm CT for game number 13 with a chance to once again finish with seven wins. The news is per Brett McMurphy:

The Eagles will face off against #21 Cincinnati team of the American Athletic Conference on ESPN. The Bearcats were just 25 yards from making it to the Cotton Bowl, had they taken down Memphis in the AAC Championship Game, but still enter the postseason ranked despite the loss. Cincinnati comes in with a 10-3 record, with one loss to #1 Ohio State and two losses to #17 Memphis.
Obviously at 6-6 the Eagles are just happy to be going anywhere, but this is a halfway decent destination. The weather in Birmingham will be decent -- certainly warmer than Detroit. And hey, it's a January bowl, technically??
We’ll have more coverage in the coming days and weeks as BC prepares for bowl season!
