Defensive line coach Odell Haggins will be the interim head coach starting this weekend against BC.
Willie Taggart was 5-7 in his first year with Florida State before “leading” the Seminoles to a 4-5 record this year prior to being terminated from his role on Sunday. Given Florida State’s reserved position near the top of the ACC in recruiting rankings, it’s mind-boggling that someone couldn’t just walk in off the street and Madden ‘20 that team to a winning record, and, well, hence the firing.
The Eagles just barely fell to the Seminoles last season by a score of 22-21 down in Tallahassee, and FSU is struggling at least as badly this season. The Eagles are 2 point underdogs at home so far against the Seminoles for this coming Saturday, so it will be interesting to see how the team reacts to the firing — will FSU just give up on the rest of their season, or will they be playing for pride for their newly-promoted head coach?
