As the weather in Chestnut Hill begins to warm up, and the winter sports season winds down, it is time for those at the Heights to look towards the spring. For some, that means the start of football spring practices.
In a statement released by Boston College Athletics Wednesday, the BC Football program announced the start of spring practice, culminating in the Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game, scheduled for a noon kickoff on April 22 at Alumni Stadium on Boston College’s campus.
The Eagles return 16 starters from their 2016 team that defeated Maryland at the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit back on Dec. 26, 2016.
Highlighting the returning starters is defensive end Harold Landry, who eschewed an early NFL Draft entry to return to the Heights for his senior year. Landry led the nation in sacks and forced fumbles during the 2016 campaign.
Spring practice will begin March 15 at 9 AM.
