This week, two games from the BC football season made two polar opposite lists on SBNation.
The Quick Lane Bowl, a thrilling 36-30 win over Maryland that featured offensive fireworks and dominant play from some future NFL players on BC’s defensive line, made SBNation’s list of the best 100 games from the 2016 season. The game came in at #66 on Bill Connelly’s list.
This season was fun.

oh no, is it technically "last" season now?https://t.co/smYlbMifFY
Shortly after that was published, Boston College’s 45-7 loss at Florida State on a rainy Friday night in late October made a different list: The 10 worst college football games of 2016.
“Friday college football is usually bad, and this was the Friday-est Power 5 game of the year. BC didn’t convert a third down until seven minutes remained. But that's not all: this was the only game played this entire day.”

Well, you can certainly say the Eagles experienced the downiest of downs on a few different occasions this season, with the 38-point loss in Tallahassee being one of them.
But Connelly’s list does point out that BC finished the season on a high, with a truly entertaining win over Maryland. Even if the offense was terrible all year (and even in the second half of that game), they provided enough firepower in this close win to finally give BC fans the performance they had been waiting for.
Hopefully next year the Eagles appear more on Connelly’s list for competitive games than on Kirk’s list for some of the same thrashings BC endured this past season.
