The Boston College Eagles look to get back in the win column today with a road game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. That's right ... #therivalry. The game will be televised by ACC RSN (NESN+ in New England), as well as ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app. James Bates and Coy Wire are on the call.
This is a matchup of two teams headed in opposite directions. Wake Forest is 2-5 on the year, 0-3 in ACC play, and hasn't won a ballgame in over a month. The Demon Deacons dropped a 30-7 game last weekend as they hosted Syracuse. Head Coach Dave Clawson replaces long-time Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe as head coach down in Winston-Salem. Clawson spent five seasons at Bowling Green, compiling a 32-31 record (24-17 MAC) and a conference title in 2013.
The Eagles (4-3, 1-2 ACC) played well enough to notch a win over a ranked Clemson team last week, but left too many points on the field in a 17-13 loss to the Tigers. BC has bounced back pretty well after losses this season, beating USC and N.C. State in the games immediately after a loss.
This will be the 22nd meeting between the two schools. Boston College owns a 11-8-2 advantage in the all-time series; 6-3 as ACC Atlantic Division foes. Last season, BC powered past Wake Forest 24-10 on the legs of Andre Williams, who rushed for 204 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries in the victory.
