This weekend BC will look for their third road win and second ACC win when they travel to Winston-Salem to battle the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Wynn Las Vegas expects the Eagles to get win number five, predicting them as the victors with a hardy twelve point spread.
Boston College (-12) is 5-2 against the spread this year, with losses to Colorado State and Pitt being the lone times the Eagles failed ATS.
Wake Forest is 3-4 against the spread this year, failing to cover against Louisiana-Monroe (-2), Gardner Webb (-22), Florida State (+37.5), and Syracuse (+6). They did cover against Utah State (+16), Louisville (+21.5), and Army (+2). As noted above Wake has only been a favorite twice this season.
The spread probably will be very fluid this week depending on the health of quarterback John Wolford, who was knocked out of the game Saturday against Syracuse with a concussion. If he can't make the game, expect the spread to get bigger, but honestly the drop off between Wolford and any other quarterback on Wake's roster isn't that great.
Other Week 8 Games Of Note:
--Virginia Tech (4-3) is favorited (-2.5) at home against Miami (4-3).
-- Syracuse (3-4) are (+15) dogs on the road against Clemson (5-2).
-- UNC (3-4) are (+6) dogs at home against Virginia (4-3).
-- Pittsburgh (4-3) are (-3.5) favorites at home against Georgia Tech (5-2).
UMass (2-6) will be bringing their vaunted two game winning streak to Toledo (-14.5)
