Boston College vs. Virginia Tech: Final Thoughts And Predictions

A big matchup this weekend is on the docket for the Eagles as they travel down to Blacksburg to do battle with the Hokies. Weather looks like it could be sloppy on Saturday, and Virginia Tech seems vulnerable, but what does that all mean? Let's take a look.

Big Questions

Much has been made about Virginia Tech's inability to contain mobile quarterbacks, how will they fare against arguable the best mobile QB in the game? Kyle Fuller is one of the best cornerbacks in college football, will Tyler Murphy ever throw in his direction? Josh Bordner had an outstanding game against Wake Forest, will that continue? Will Sherm Alston make a game changing play? (he's due). What about the play of the offensive line, will that get any better? Can they prevent Virginia Tech from adding on to their enormous sack totals? On defense can Kevin Kavalec continue to build on his growing reputation? Can pressure force Michael Brewer into some interceptions? Can the Eagles prevent another brain fart like the second half of the Wake Forest game? I'll pray to any god, deity, shaman, or charismatic cult leader for BC to make it through the game without a missed extra point....can that happen please?

Lingering Questions

What will the weather look like on Saturday? Will it actually snow? How much of an effect will Lane Stadium and their fans have on BC? If the Eagles jump out to an early lead will that silence the crowd? Can BC avoid another trip into the house of horrors? Will BC leave Lane with bowl eligibility, a close loss, or be blown out?

What To Drink With Bowl Eligibility On The Line

Harpoon Winter Warmer: Tomorrow is the first day of November, time to put away the pumpkin beers, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin donuts, pumpkin flavored candles, pumpkin deodorants, and pumpkin toothpaste. What better way to get yourself ready for the first day after Halloween then to sit down with a beer that is a stable in the Black household during the winter months. Winter Warmer is a darker beer, still rich in flavor, not necessarily one you would want to drink a ton of, but still delicious. And if it's going to be as cold as the weathermen say it's going to be this weekend, this is a beer that will warm the bones.

HOKIE: Indeed.

BALDWIN: WELLS ON THAT GOOD NEWS I AM GOING TO MAKE MY PREDILICTION THAT BEECEE WINS AGAIN IN THE BESTEST SNOW BOWL TO EVER SNOW. EAGLEZ WINS BY GOOD N PLENTY!

The Fugees- Fugee-la: Not completely rap, The Fugees were still one of the greatest groups to come out of the 1990's, and one of the shortest lived. Comprised of Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill and Pras, this trio released one of the quintessential albums in the hip hop movement. Including the song "Killing Me Softly" and "Ready or Not", the album is beautifully crafted from beginning to end, with awesome samples and beautiful singing by Hill. But her voice is deceiving, as she is also possibly one of the best female rappers of all time. The song above highlights some of that. Pras and Wyclef both add Haitian flavor to the songs. This was pretty much the only album that they created, as Wyclef went on to much more commercial success while Lauryn Hill got a bad case of the crazies.

BCI Staff Predictions and GPS

Brian - The Captain is still out in California doing his thing. 23-21 Virginia Tech.

Jeff - Down in South Carolina, getting ready to kick Brian's butt in their little gambling game. 23-17 Boston College

A.J - Finding a bar that opens at noon, and has the game on. Could be a challenge. 27-20 Boston College.

Grant - In Connecticut not not watching Frozen. I think we've got a good shot, so naturally we won't win. VTech 30, BC 13

Joe - In Massachusetts trying out to be a defensemen for the Bruins. "Despite being blind in one eye, I think I'm up to #7 on the depth chart." . . 31-24 BC

Dan- I hate that everyone is confident about this game. We always lose those games. Tech 27. BC 20. I hope I'm wrong.

The BC Interruption Prediction Game

Somehow the hockey dude is still #1 in our game, but don't look now as Blogdad has had two big weeks in a row. So even more reason to hope that the Hokies lose
